CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT
CONVENIENCE STORE BAKERY + DISTRIBUTION CENTER
A major convenience store chain contracted Haskell to reconfigure a warehouse into a bakery production and distribution center. The updated 271,000 SF facility included a 16,000 SF freezer storage/pick room, a 18,000 SF cooler storage/pick room, and a 38,000 SF cold dock receiving and shipping area. The EPC project scope also called for the procurement and installation of bakery equipment including flour measuring, conveyance machines, a donut/baked goods line (with sheeting, proof, fryer, and glazer), miscellaneous mixers, depositors, fryers, and ovens; and both tunnel and rack washers.
After successfully completing this project, the client contracted Haskell to a perform a second, similar brownfield EPC project at another bakery and distribution center location.
CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT
BAKED GOODS MANUFACTURER
Haskell was asked to design and construct a greenfield project with new yeast production and packaging capabilities.
The process scope consisted of: 7 molasses fermenters, 12 cream tanks, and another 60 assorted tanks and vessels. Haskell provided the oversight for the tank erection and installation, specialty equipment and pumps and provided assistance in the start-up and commissioning of the systems. There is over 12 miles of stainless-steel piping and carbon steel at this facility.
The packaging portion of the system consisted initially of high-speed lines and 2 additional lines to be relocated from
another facility.
CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT
CANDY BAR MANUFACTURER
Haskell partnered with a national candy bar manufacturer to design and construct a new peanut roasting facility. The 23,600 SF steel structure includes a raw goods receiving dock, roasting room, and finished goods shipping dock as well as employee welfare spaces, a controls/quality testing office, oil heating room, and utility spaces.
Many critical utilities had to be relocated to make room for the new facility. The sanitary sewer lines, fire main loop, natural gas main, storm sewers, and irrigation mains all had to be relocated and re-worked. The primary service entrance to the plant was also reconfigured as part of our scope to improve traffic circulation and accommodate the new shipping and receiving docks. A new pedestrian walkway and walkway canopy were installed to provide access to the plant cafeteria and administration offices.

Haskell performed an Engineer, Procure, Construct (EPC) project for a major snack manufacturer to effectively unload potatoes from a rail car and transfer them to raw material receiving. The new potato unload system included a rail car flume process system and construction of new rail spurs to expand the facility’s unloading and storage capabilities. We utilized 3D modeling technology to design the system and ensure it would meet the client’s production goals before procuring and installing the necessary equipment.
Our scope also included work to prepare the site for the new system. We performed site preparation and grading, relocated some underground site utilities, and mitigated a few other utility-related challenges as well. The project was successful in providing the client with an effective way to move raw materials from rail delivery into their potato chip processing plant.

IBIE 2022 EXHIBITOR KNOWS TOP PROCESS TEAM FROM INSIDE & OUT
With more than 20 years in industrial baking facilities, Chris Gambino has the perspective of both a client and a member of Haskell's engineering team.
Gambino summarized the key points he would want prospective project owners to take away regarding Haskell.
Broad-based technical expertise: In terms of food & beverage manufacturing, the company has in-house experience in virtually every food process.
Operational experience:
Many team members have worked in the industries they serve. They are able to offer intangibles that aren't necessarily a part of engineering, equipment, design or process design, but that ultimately help define the process and make it a long-term operational success.
Single point of accountability: With a heritage of innovation in integrated delivery, Haskell’s design-build and engineer, procure, construct (EPC) abilities reduce risk and provide project owners certainty of outcome.
Cutting-edge knowledge:
Because Haskell is constantly creating manufacturing facilities, it is always abreast of the latest best practices and applies lessons learned from each engagement.

Broad-based technical expertise:
In terms of food & beverage manufacturing, the company has in-house experience in virtually every food process.
Operational experience:
Many team members have worked in the industries they serve. They are able to offer intangibles that aren't necessarily a part of engineering, equipment, design or process design, but that ultimately help define the process and make it a long-term operational success.
Single point of accountability:
With a heritage of innovation in integrated delivery, Haskell’s design-build and engineer, procure, construct (EPC) abilities reduce risk and provide project owners certainty of outcome.
Cutting-edge knowledge:
Because Haskell is constantly creating manufacturing facilities, it is always abreast of the latest best practices and applies lessons learned from each engagement.

CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT
SNACK FOOD MANUFACTURER
CONFIDENTIAL CLIENT
BAKED GOODS MANUFACTURER
Haskell was asked to design and construct a greenfield project with new yeast production and
packaging capabilities.
The packaging portion of the system consisted initially of high-speed lines and 2 additional lines to be relocated from another facility.
